She-ra Princess of Power Had an Awesome Jewel on her Head

Remember She-ra? I truly loved her probably only because she had an awesome jewel on her head and and dress! I don't remember her storyline whatsoever. I read He-man more than anything. Sometimes the two would cross paths like Hercules and Xena lol. I thought of her today and came across a lot of cool fan art. I wonder if this post will bring back waves of nostalgia or was she already at the forefront of your minds (Care Bears etc...)

Keely Valentine - lol NOT AT ALL. I've made $100 with 6 months of blogging but I keep hoping that as my viewership increases I will make a much more substantial amount. God I really hope so!

I love She-ra, but am so not a fan of these OTT sexualised images.

I was just singing the theme tune to He-Man at my kids they other day! They thought I was nuts! Is it wrong that I LOVE this fan art SO much? Great find :D

I was always more of a He-Man fan but I watched almost everything to do with those two shows... and Thundercats, and Robotech!

aaaah those were the days!

"I am Adora. He-Man's twin sister and defender of the Crystal Castle. This is Spirit my beloved steed. Fabulous secrets were revealed to me the day I held aloft my sword and said "For the honor of Greyskull! I am She-Ra"

Wow, these are impressive. I definitely watched He-man more than She-ra but yes, she had an awesome headband lol

Sensible Obsessions - Oh my gosh! That sounds awesome! Maybe I'll join you.

Marley - Thank you! I'll check out your blog in a second and put up your banner.

Sara Mari - God I'm so jealous that you managed to preserve so many of your cool toys. My mom dumped absolutely everything I owned.

ピルーピル- isn't it awesome? its my favorite too but I couldn't find the artist since I believe it was in a magazine.

Anonymous - I agree but honest to God ALL of the She-ra fan art is of this kind. ALL OF IT.

Carmen - its so wrong its right and then wrong again lol

Daruku-sensei - Yes, thundercats! I watched because I liked cats lol.

Maggi - lol she did! I hated saying it but that was why I liked her so much!

@PetSUgar & Keely Valentine

Spend a long time (more time if you are already here) and you may not love it here so much... well you may still love it (as I do) but I have no more delusions about this place. When you see what happens to people who are not blessed with the fortune of being a freeter JET programme ALT (like me, and not just foreigners... Just the way Japan treats their 'own' is horrific. How they treat the 'other' is ghastly.

Nothing bursts your bubble about Japan, like Japan itself.

I do still love it here though. I just dislike it.

Japan turned me off most anime, TV Dramas, Jpop and My perceptions of Japanese fashion and urban culture. (the biggest reasons I came here in the first place)

Japan is like visual kei.

The band's glossy image is nothing more than a thin manufactured veneer to keep the masses oblivious. The fans are shallow, hyenas who see the band as a piece of meat. They headbang stupidly because its the required dance move and they all do the same thing because nobody likes to be the odd one out... They couldn't spot a 10th of the musical influences in the band's music because they don't know anything outside their blinkered community. It is a sick and disgusting cesspool but despite all the varnish and hyenas and shit...

The music is SO DAMN GOOD.

I don't know if this was the place to say it... but it just came out... Call it Graduation week depression. :p

PetSugar said...

Daruku-sensei - When I say Japan nerd, I just mean the STUFF. The culture is something else entirely. I've no appreciation for people who romanticize other cultures based on appearances (i.e. I see it happen with India all the time). I just love all the video games, cuteness, food etc.. I actually much rather value living in the U.S. and appreciating Japanese things vs. living in Japan and having an entirely different perspective

Daruku-sensei said...

I get you... I think I just needed to say that somewhere... now that I read it again... I think I posted it in the wrong place :p

feel free to axe it :D

PetSugar said...

Daruku-sensei - theres no right or wrong place for anything! this may not be a usual place for heavy conversation but who cares! so what someone will get exposed and they didn't see it coming? who the hell cares lol

Daruku-sensei said...

remind me to buy you a kit kat when you come to Japan for a visit :p

PetSugar said...

Daruku-sensei - well it better come with a ticket there lol or its probably never going to happen
