These were ALL BLYTHE DOLLS. I say "were" because a few barely resemble the doe-eyed cutie AND because as lifeless as dolls already are, Julien Martinez manages to evoke real death and decay. Taking one very shallow form of girlhood and injecting life into it only to suck it out, takes true mastery. If you aren't familiar with Blythe dolls, they each have a string attached and when you pull the string their eyes change color. This artist has customized every single eye chip to better suit the creation.
Ugh! I own a Blythe so I know the limitations of its facial structure! Thus I know what mastery is involved in these creations! Ugh! Julien Martinez's site is in French so I couldn't tell you how to purchase, but if you are truly committed... you will find a way! (via The Poisoned Sweet)

Wow, that's amazing!!! a little scary but beautiful
Owner of brittle bones - ah! i don't know if you could tell but that one is some kind of madhatter/white rabbit blythe!
a-g-u - very much like tim burton :) in the scary yet beautiful aspect.
This speaks to my morbid, yet cute loving heart. They do look quite Tim Burton-ish! It's lovely! ^.^
OMG such a terrific work! I'd love to be able to customize dolls like that.
They remind me of Ray Caesar's art...
I think they're beautifully creepy! I love Blythe dolls and I would love to own one, but I don't know where to look.
Chelsea - haha i think my heart is made of the same stuffings! certainly more cute than morbid.. clearly lol
Dimitri - hmm Ray Caesar? I'll have to look up that artist!
Rabbit - I bought my blythe doll off ebay!!
oh soo tim burton, I want them o.o
These weren't all Blythe dolls, two of the ones you posted are Dal dolls, that's why they look so different.
pbrigitte - whoa!! that makes sense! i swear when you go to the site above those dolls that are "Dal" dolls, it says Blythe!!!
Really?! That's so strange, I'm sure though, I customize both and I love Dal, the one in blue and the one on the bike are def Dals. Would it be strange if they just got lost in translation somehow? Maybe he thinks Blythe is what all Japanese fashion dolls are called :3 hehe!
FUCK I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
skeletronix - no one has ever loved it so enthusiastically before! yeah! i love your blog too.. just browsed through it :)
Wow, amazing freak dolls! Congrats for ur blog, it´s great :)
Those dolls are spooky! Yet they are highly creative and imaginative. They remind me of the movie "The Bride Corpse."
